It's me

Thought I'll get back into drawing again. Although I don't miss it, it has gotten me through ups and downs. Took this pic in a dressing room as I was looking for a shirt for a wedding. Here's the caricature results. As I was doing this I thought of making a tutorial on how I do some of my work. So, I think that's coming next.

I had two strips planned to drop during the month of Ramadan but that didn't happen. I'm still going to post them anyway. One came out on time so here's the preview of the second one. My Photoshop is tripping and I can't find any information about it online. Looks like I'm going to have to figure this out on my own. Peace.

Color me bad

I've really put some work into the B-Side comic strip, so much so that I've neglected any other projects. At first the strip was only going to be in B&W but I got a bit ambitious and went all color. So far I haven't quit on that idea but we'll see how I respond to that work load. I think sometimes I put too much thought into it and get no results. I've been told to just let it flow and do whatever you feel. Sometimes that idea can sound good but then again I don't want to produce thoughtless work just because I can. With that said here's some B-Side. Also from now on I'll be posting work in progress and you can see the final stuff on this link

Checking in

I didn't realize how long it's been since I last posted. I was trying to post at least once a week but that can be a task. When you're not drawing as much you don't post as much. Well here is something simple; The banner for B-Side which is on the comic strip page.

B-Side 2.0

I haven't posted anything in some time but I have a good reason. A few months ago the wife and I started planning on going to Egypt on vacation for two weeks to visit her family. This will be the first time since we've been married that I get to see my in-laws, and my first visit to Egypt.
As things started coming together it took me away from the computer, however, it didn't take my away from my sketch book. I didn't work on Stolen Moments but I did update the characters from B-Side. It looks like I'm going to start on that comic first and Stolen Moments will have to come along later.
Here are a few characters in their finished form. I hope ya digs.
Well, the Egypt trip is over and I'm back to the normal grind of life. I know I'm not saying much here, but I'm planning a few things.....stay frosty.

CRANK!!

It's going to be a rough few weeks or months, depending on how life works it way out. Haven't felt much like working on my project "Stolen Moments." I was planning on setting it off this month but it doesn't look like that's going to happen. If it does it's going to be a crappy attempt to keep up with my promise to my self. Just to keep my mind on things I've started to clean out my sketch book. So here's another from the pencil archives brought to life. Once again I'm not feeling this background. I should have drawn something but I didn't plan this out.

Nesrin sketch

Things have really changed on this side. Not to sure how Stolen Moments is going to turn out or evolve but we'll see what comes. Whatever comes along I'll just have to lay on the ropes and take the punches. Hopefully I'll come out of it like Ali did. Enough said, here is the last sketch before I get this thing on the road this month of April.

The return of the ankh

I Check the web news and a few blogs I follow every morning before I start my day. This just means poli-tricks seem to be catching my eyes again. This should mean a few political cartoons should be working their way through my brain. So, saying that, keep a look out and be sure to comment good or bad on my side of the stories. I won't say much more here I'll just let the artwork speak for me.
April is right upon us and I'm still working on the comic book. Just when you think you can do something on time it hits you that you didn't plan right. But moving forward it's still coming to a PC near new, real soon.
Now on to the real deal:
After seeing her new video I decided to dig in the sketch book and mess around with a not so old drawing. I've been into her music for some time and anytime she comes out with something I just have to hear it. One day I'll catch a show of hers with my wife, who also digs her style. I didn't spend to much time on it and I think it shows, however I'm pleased with the finished look. When I start doing the background I have no plans and whatever comes to mind...well there it is.

Kim Kardasdian

Bravo! I feel pretty good I got another one in before the end of the month. I've been spending a lot of time on the new comic so I haven't had time to do any more caricatures. It's about time I send all the sketches to the computer and stop rethinking everything and just let it flow. Besides putting pencil to paper I got a chance to play some basketball on Thursday. No matter how in shape you are you should never play for 4 hours. I'm still feeling my stupidity.
Well, anyway on to the goodies.
This one has been hidden in my sketchbook for some time. She wanted to come out so bad, and lets face it, nothing can stop this one from getting media attention. Ladies and gents if anyone has ever "taken one for the team" this has got to be the one.

This is for everyone who asked when is the website coming and I told you when it's finished. It's up, our long awaited website has finally launched. However, there are still some things that need fixing, but we are on our way. We've also given ourselves till April to blast our the new comic, this way we're not rushing things so the end result should look pretty fantastic. You can either hit the link at the upper right at the sandstone logo or just click here.
Time to hit you with a sample. This is also on the front page of the website. Enjoy.
